Billy Goats Country Outfitters is a family-owned western wear and country clothing store based in Maffra, Victoria, in the heart of Gippsland’s farming and campdrafting region.
We’re a young, hardworking family fortunate to have been born and raised in Gippsland, surrounded by horses, cattle and the rural lifestyle that inspires everything we do.
After starting our own family, we quickly realised that riding young horses and rearing calves was no longer practical with two young children and a partner working unpredictable shift work. With over a decade of experience in country and western clothing, we saw an opportunity to create something of our own.
That opportunity became Billy Goats Country Outfitters — a store built for people who live and work in the Australian country lifestyle.
Why Maffra?
Maffra sits in the middle of one of Victoria’s most authentic rural regions. It’s a community built on dairy farming, cattle work, rodeo and campdrafting, making it the perfect place for a country clothing store that understands the needs of locals.
At Billy Goats we stock quality western wear, durable work clothing, cowboy boots and western denim designed for people who spend long days on the land or in the saddle.
Why the Name “Billy Goats”?
The name Billy Goats pays tribute to the legendary Billy Goats Track, the steepest 4WD track in Victoria located about 2.5 hours north of Maffra in the Victorian High Country.
When we’re not in the store, you’ll usually find us camping, hunting, fishing or horse riding through the High Country, so the name felt like the perfect fit for our store and lifestyle.
Why We Do It
Our passion is customer service and helping people find the right gear for the job.
We believe country clothing should be durable, practical and comfortable, and we aim to stock quality products that suit real Australian customers.
That means offering a wide range of sizes including:
- Jeans from short leg lengths through to extra long
- Tops from XXS to 5XL
- Boots from size 5 through to size 15
If we don’t have what you need in store, we’re always happy to organise special orders or bulk orders when possible.

One of the best parts of running Billy Goats is the people.
We love seeing regular faces, meeting new customers and having a yarn with the locals. It’s also a lifestyle that allows our kids to grow up around the store and be part of the community.
