Warranty Policy
At Billy Goats Country Outfitters, we stand behind the quality of the products we sell.
Our products are sourced from established brands and suppliers and may be covered by a manufacturer's warranty in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
Your rights under Australian Consumer Law apply regardless of any manufacturer's warranty.
Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
Products must be of acceptable quality, fit for their intended purpose and match their description.
If a product develops a fault, the remedy available will depend on the nature and severity of the problem.
For a major failure, you are entitled to choose a refund or replacement.
For a problem that is not a major failure, we may be entitled to have the product repaired or otherwise provide an appropriate remedy within a reasonable time.
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies you have under Australian Consumer Law.
What Is Not Normally Considered a Manufacturing Fault?
Manufacturer warranties and consumer guarantees do not generally cover damage caused by:
- Normal wear and tear
- Accidental damage
- Misuse, neglect or improper care
- Using a product for a purpose for which it was not designed
- Incorrect cleaning, washing or maintenance
- Modifications or alterations
- Unauthorised repairs
- Damage caused after purchase that is unrelated to the manufacture or quality of the product
The age of the product, amount of use, product type, price and expected lifespan will also be relevant when assessing a warranty claim.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
If you believe your product has developed a fault, please contact us before returning the item.
Email: hello@billygoats.com.au
Phone: (03) 5145 1149
Please provide:
- Your order number or proof of purchase
- The product name
- A clear description of the problem
- Clear photos of the fault
- Photos showing the overall condition of the product
- Any other information that may help us assess the claim
Providing clear photographs at the beginning of the claim can help us resolve the matter more quickly.
Warranty Assessment
Warranty claims are assessed based on the individual product and the nature of the reported fault.
In some cases, we may be able to assess the issue from the information and photographs you provide.
In other cases, the product may need to be returned for inspection.
Some brands and manufacturers also require products to be inspected by their warranty or technical team before determining whether a manufacturing fault exists.
Where manufacturer assessment is required, Billy Goats Country Outfitters will assist with the warranty process.
A manufacturer's assessment does not exclude or limit your rights against Billy Goats Country Outfitters under Australian Consumer Law.
Available Remedies
If a product is confirmed to have a manufacturing fault or otherwise fails to meet an applicable consumer guarantee, the appropriate remedy will depend on the circumstances and your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
This may include:
- Repair
- Replacement
- Refund
For a major failure, you are entitled to choose between a refund or replacement.
For a problem that is not a major failure, we may provide an appropriate remedy within a reasonable period.
Returning a Faulty Product
Please contact us before posting a product back for warranty assessment.
We will advise you whether the product needs to be returned and provide appropriate return instructions.
Where a product is confirmed to have a fault covered by Australian Consumer Law, Billy Goats Country Outfitters will meet its obligations regarding reasonable return or postage costs where applicable.
Please do not dispose of a product that is the subject of a warranty claim unless we or the manufacturer advise you to do so.
Change of Mind & Incorrect Sizing
Warranty claims are separate from change-of-mind and incorrect-size returns.
An item is not considered faulty simply because:
- You selected the incorrect size
- The fit is not suitable for you
- You change your mind
- You decide you no longer like the style or colour
For these situations, please refer to our Returns & Exchanges Policy.
Sale & Clearance Products
Purchasing an item on sale or clearance does not remove your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
If an item was discounted because of a specific fault or defect that was clearly disclosed to you before purchase, you generally cannot later claim a remedy for that particular disclosed fault.
Other faults that were not disclosed may still be covered by your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
